Staff Correspondent

A man was stabbed to death by his younger brother in the capital’s Konapara area in Demra on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased, Kamruzzaman Rubel, 38, son
of Sheikh Nuruzzaman, was a resident of Dogai in Demra.
The deceased’s father, Nuruzzaman said his younger son Pavel stabbed Rubel in the chest with a boti over an altercation as they had lunch at about 2:00pm, leaving him injured.
They rushed Rubel to a local clinic then shifted him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Demra police officer-in-charge Moniruzzaman said they sent a police team to hold the offender.
His family claimed that Pavel was suffering from a mental disorder, the OC said.
Nuruzzaman, a bank official said his younger son Pavel was suffering from a mental illness for the last five years and was undergoing treatment by a psychiatrist.
The deceased left a daughter Raima, 8, and a son Taha, 2.
