Bappa buzzes with new album

Four years after popular singer Bappa Mazumder has released his ninth solo studio album early this month, which has already created a buzz in the Eid market.
The album, titled Bechey Thak Sabuj, features12 tracks including a Tagore song as a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore marking his 71st death anniversary observed last week.
‘I am very excited as I released the album after four years’ break and looking forward to get feedback from my fans,’ Bappa Mazumder told the New Age.
All the songs of the album, except the Tagore song ‘Tumi robey nirobey’, have been composed by him. Shahan Kabondho, Shankar Shahjahan, Bappa Mazumder and others the lyricists of the album.
Bappa also informed that most of the songs of his Bechey Thak Sabuj are romantic –soft numbers, which represents his signature style.
Title track of the album, ‘Beche thak sabuj’, addresses environmental issues. ‘As an artiste I think I’ve some responsibilities towards the society which inspired him to compose the song ‘Beche thak sabuj,’ Bappa said.
The album, however, opens with the track ‘Ghum ashey na’. Bappa Mazumder further informed that he would appear in several phono-live studio concerts in upcoming Eid where he would present songs from the latest album.
‘I’m also working hard these days for my band Dalchhut’s forthcoming album. Hopefully it will be released next year’, he said.
Bappa’s last solo album Shurjo Snaney Chol was released in 2008. Bappa Mazumder, who came to the music industry as the vocalist of Dalchut in the early 1990s, also got huge response from the listeners after releasing his first solo Tokhon Bhor Bela in 1994.
Bappa has also worked with other artistes in several mixed albums including Bappa With Rockers, Ek Mutho Gaan, Bolona Biday - Bappa N Khalid, Abar Pothe Dekha - Bappa, Anjan & Tutul, Protikkha - Bappa Samina Jewel, Bappa Featuring Sandipan - Tribute to S D Burmon & R D Burmon, Janala Khule - Bappa ft. Anna and Bawhman - Bappa Mazumder & Santonu.
