Advance train tickets sold out at Kamalapur

As travellers’ demand for train tickets kept rising, most of the advance train tickets sold out by noon on the last day of advance ticket sale.
The Bangladesh Railway started to sell advance tickets for the Eid on August 5 at Dhaka and Chittagong stations.
The 26 intercity trains’ tickets for travelling on August 14 was available on August 5, August 15’s on August 6, August 16’s on August 7, August 17’s on August 8 and August 18’s on August 9.
Tickets for Chittagong-bound Turna-Nishitha, Chattala Express, Suborna Express, Mahanagar Godhuli and Mahanagar Prabhati, Dinajpur-bound Nilsagar, Ekota and Rangpur Express, Rajshahi-bound Padma Express, Dhumketu and Silkcity, Khulna-bound Sundarban and Chitrra expresses, Dewanganj-bound Brahmaputra and Tista expresses and Jamalpur-bound Egarosinghur, Agnibina and Jamuna expresses were sold on these days.
Tickets for all Chittagong-bound trains’ tickets were sold out by 2:00pm.
Officials at the information booth said that there was no ticket for August 18.
Tickets for all Dinajpur-bound and Rajshahi-bound trains’ tickets for journey on August 18 morning sold out by the same time.
‘What can I do? I thought I would be able to avail the 18 August morning train but now I have been compelled to buy afternoon’s ticket,’ said Dinajpur residnet Aminul Islam.
Countermen of both booths at the Kamalapur Railway Station said all morning tickets for August 18 had sold out by noon.
It was also found that at the women’s counter only daily tickets were selling at 2:00pm.
The station master, Shakhawat Khan, and station manger Khirul Bashir were not found in their rooms for comments.
Besides, seven special trains will run during the Eid holidays while 150 new and repaired coaches would join the existing fleet of trains on August 14.
