Everybody responsible for the fall

Amin Khan tells New Age

Ziaul Hasan

Amin KhannAmin Khann

Noted film actor Amin Khan blames each and everybody concerned with country’s movie industry for the continuous fall.
According to Khan, the producers, directors, actors, technical crews and even the cinema owners are equally responsible for the slumped trade market, which has led the industry in risk.
‘We are struggling as we never thought of improving ourselves to keep the pace with the time,’ observed Amin Khan, who has acted in over 160 films.
‘Instead of trying to improve the situation, unfortunately we are accusing one another. But, I believe we all are equally responsible,’ he said. Amin Khan, however, is optimist. ‘We need to set a target where we want to see our industry in the next five years at first, and then we need to upgrade ourselves to achieve the goal,’ observed Khan.
‘I mean we should modernise ourselves in terms of knowledge, technology and talent. Everyone related to the process of production to screening of a film, be he a spot boy or a cinema owner, must work hard to fit themselves with the demand of the time,’ Amin Khna explained.
As a practical human being, Amin Khan also believes that it’s not possible for an individual to bring a significant change. ‘In fact, the government will have to take comprehensive plan to improve the situation,’ he said.
Amin Khan has been successfully acting as hero for over the past 20 years since his debut in Mohammad Hossain’s Obujh Duti Mon in 1993. The actor, however, claims that he had no intention to be a hero.
‘I never planned to be a film star.  Just out of curiosity I participated in a talent hunt programme and I passed the audition. Then I got offer from the directors,’Amin Khan told New Age.
Since then, Amin Khan never looked behind. During his long and eventful career, Amin has successfully characterised various roles. Of the 160- movies he has acted so far, Amin Khan considers his acting in the movies such as Hridoy Amar, Duniyer Badsha, Mogher Mulluk and Phul Nebo Na Asru Nebo are noteworthy.
Amin Khan, however, has thirst to enact the role of a freedom fighter. ‘I have a thirst to act as a freedom fighter. The war came in several of my movies, but unfortunately none of the films were directly on the war of independence. And none of these movies portrayed me as a freedom fighter,’ a frustrated Amin Khan said.
‘I want to pay tribute to the war heroes playing role of a freedom fighter in a movie. That will be the expression of my love for my country and the war,’ he said.
Amin Khan further informed that he was busy acting in MA Awal’s movie Kachher Satru. FI Manik’s Bhaggobati and Ruhul Amin’s Kopale Sukh Nei were also his next projects, he said.
