Staff Correspondent . Sylhet

A British citizen, Sabina Aktar, who was injured critically on Sunday night by her husband who also killed his father, died Tuesday evening at the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Sabina’s husband Mostaq Ahmed Dipu, also a non-resident Bangladeshi and a British citizen, hacked his father Aftab Ali to death following a family feud Sunday evening at their house of Surma Residential Area at Akhalia in the city.
Dipu also hit Sabina with a machete as she tried to protect her father-in-law.
Later, she was rushed to the SMCH in a critical condition and died there from her injuries, the on-duty doctors at the hospital said.
Dipu was arrested by the police after death of his father and a case was also filed against him with the Kotwali police by his uncle Mashud Ahmed on Monday.
Kotwali police officer-in-charge Ataur Rahman told New Age that the post-mortem examination of the body of Sabina was going on at the SOMCH morgue still 3:00pm on Wednesday.
Sabina, along with her husband Dipu, three children and father-in-law Aftab Ali, came to the country from the United Kingdom on July 19, the family said.
