Ctg chambers start fair price sale of essentials

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha . Chittagong

The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Saturday launched sale of essential commodities at fair prices for the people of low-income group in the port city.
Former CCCI president MA Latif, MP, formally inaugurated the fair price sale programme of CCCI in front of the chamber building in the morning.
MA Latif, MP, in his inaugural speech lauded the initiative taken by CCCI and urged all businessmen to come forward to keep the prices of daily commodities at a tolerable level.
As part of the programme, the CCCI will sell subsidised necessary goods till 25th Ramadan.
The CCCI is initially selling fine rice at Tk 20, boiled rice at Tk 18 and sugar at Tk 45 per kilogram in the outlet and it will add more products in the outlet. Besides, two more outlets will be inaugurated soon.
CCCI secretary Osman Goni conducted the inaugural function while
CCCI president Murshed Murad Ibrahim presided over it.
Meanwhile, Daily Azadi editor and CMCCI director MA Malek inaugurated the fair price programme undertaken by CMCCI on its office premises.
As part of the programme, the CMCCI is selling fine rice at Tk 20, sugar at Tk 45 per kilogram and 2 litre bottle of soya-bean oil at Tk 260.
