Moudud threatens to file defamation case against ACC

Staff Correspondent

Ranking Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Moudud Ahmed threatened to file a defamation case on Sunday against the Anti-Corruption Commission for spreading an ‘ill campaign’ against him.
Moudud issued the threat at a press conference at his Motijheel law chamber.
The press conference was called following media reports that the ACC was investigating his purchase of a house in London.
Moudud asked why the matter, which is currently under investigation, would be reported in the media.
He said he would file a case against the ACC, in particular against its chairman, for assassinating his character.
He termed baseless the allegation of the ACC that his house in London was worth Tk 4.5 crore.
Moudud claimed that he owned no house in London.
He said that if the ACC failed to prove through its investigation that the house did not belong to him, then the ACC should give the house to him.
