The soothing voice of the Indian singer Jayati Chakra borty while presenting Tagore’s popular song Borisho dharar majhey gave a relief to the audience despite living a hustle – bustle metro life on Friday evening at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Center in Gulshan.
The houseful audience became a bit nostalgic at her rendition of the evergreen Tagore song Je chhilo amar swaponocharini. Jayati Chakra borty also presented Sukhheen Nishidin and Sakhi bhabona kahare boley at the programme.
Local Tagore singer Azizur RahmanTuhin began his performance with a devotional Tagore song Khoma koro amay.
His presentation of the romantic Tagore song Krishnakoli ami tarei boli was just brilliant. The talented singer also presented other romantic Tagore songs such asTomar gopon kathati and Amar hiyer majhe .
In the monsoon evening Tuhin also presented Tagore’s unique depiction of nature rendering Godhuli gogono meghe.
The musical evening, however, began with a group presentation of a classical song titled Urya dhoja by the artistes of Noibedyo.   The troupe also presented Tagore songs such as Amar milon lagi, Gaye amar pulok lage, Bishaw shathey joge jethay biharo, and Alo amar alo.
‘I really enjoyed the songs presented by the both singers-Jayati and Tuhin,’ said Farid Rashid, a delighted audience of the evening.
