Bagha municipality mayor arrested

The Rapid Action Battalion and police in a joint drive arrested Bagha Municipality mayor Akkas Ali from his house at Kaligram in Rajshahi town Thursday in a case of threat and taking extortion from local MPs.
Bagha thana OC Ali Ahmed said Akkas went to Rajshahi-6 MP Shahriar Alam’s house Wednesday, rebuked him and demanded Tk 1 lakh from him.
