Bail to 11 Ctg BNP men extended till June 20

A Chittagong court on Sunday extended bail until June 20 to 11 leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies in a vehicle torching case.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Abdur Rahman passed the order when the accused surrendered to his court seeking bail.
Those got bail extension include general secretary of district (North) unit of the main opposition Aslam Chowdhury, former president of city unit of Juba Dal Abul Hashem Bakkar and activist Sheikh Russell.
Quamrul Islam Sajjad, a counsellor for the BNP men, said Aslam secured bail from the High Court while others from the lower court.
Six cases — four with Kotwali police station and the two with Khulshi police station — were filed against 2,100 BNP-Jamaat men in connection with a clash between the activists of the BNP-led 18-party alliance and the police during an alliance rally in the city on May 13.
