Samsung launches pricey smartphone

Samsung Electronics Bangladesh on Thursday launched its newest brand of smartphone, promising buyers a unique viewing experience and other features in enhanced capacities.
GALAXY S III, so the brand is named, was showcased at a programme at Westin hotel in the capital by Samsung’s Dhaka office.
‘Designed for humans and inspired by nature,’ the brand will recognises users’ voice, ‘understands their intentions,’ and ‘let them share a moment instantly,’ according to the company executives.
The device will sport a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, providing the users with ‘vivid viewing experiences’. 
Powered by Android™ Ice Cream Sandwich, the phone is ‘designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple,’ as Choon Soo Moon, the company’s Bangladesh branch managing director, said at the launch.
The company’s Bangladesh head of mobile Hasan Mehdi gave a presentation on various utilities of the device, displaying its e-book reading facility, web browsing, camera, face and voice recognising capacity and other features.
The phone has a 1.4 GHz quad core processor, double speed Wi-Fi, built-in 16 GB memory which is expandable up to 64 GB, 4.0 Bluetooth and a long lasting 2100 mAH battery, Hasan added.
The launching price of the device will be Tk 67,500.
Officials of Samsung’s distribution partner Transcom Mobile Limited were present at the programme.
