South African all-rounder Johan Botha has been forced to withdraw from the unofficial Twenty20 tri-series in Zimbabwe with a knee injury, according to a message received from Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The unofficial series involving Bangladesh, South Africa and Zimbabwe begins on June 17 at the Harare Sports Club.
Batsman Hashim Amla will take over the captaincy and the squad will be reduced to 14 players.
Bangladesh squad left for the tournament on Tuesday and were expected to reach Harare on Wednesday night.
They will hold their first training session today before having a chance to play in local conditions for the first time during Friday’s warm-up match against Zimbabwe Select at Country club.
