Distorting images

THIS objective and serious opinion is expressed in response to a letter to editor, published by a local English-language daily on June 11. Criticising, vilifying, and leg-pulling, among other manners of negative expressions, seem to be the usual stock-in-trade for all our politicos, who usually are well versed and well used to it. Being supportive, honest and appreciative does not seem to be their cup of tea. We find this regularly, as we scan the dailies, where the majority of political news that is printed is brimming with such ideas and expressions.
Take our two major political parties. Opposing the other seems to be their only preoccupation. They hardly ever talk about a constructive aim, objective or programme that they espouse. They only talk of what could have been, and would have been, had they been ruling the roost; or if and when they would be in power. Power seems to be their only common denominator; all else is just empty words!
Once in power, they seem to have one agenda — how to make hay while the sun shines. This is what they all excel in doing.
A fed-up voter
