Navy team leaves for UN mission in Lebanon

United News of Bangladesh . Dhaka

A team of the Bangladesh Navy Force (BANCON-3) left for UN peacekeeping operations in Lebanon on Friday.
The BANCON-3 left Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong by a UN chartered plane for Lebanon to board on BNS Osman and BNS Modhumati deployed in peacekeeping operations.
Commander Commodore M Anwarul Islam, assistant chief of Naval Staff Operations Rear Admiral M Farid Habib, high ranked naval officers of Chittagong and family members of departing team were present at the airport to see them off.
In a brief statement Farid Habib urged them to work with honesty, sincerity and professionalism to achieve the appreciation and good name for Bangladesh.
It is the third group of Lebanon-bound contingent consisting of 320 naval personnel.
Bangladesh Navy warships have been contributing directly to the UN peacekeeping operations since 2010, according to an ISPR release.
