Michael Learns to Rock to perform in Dhaka

Danish pop-soft rock band Michael Learns to Rock will perform in Dhaka on June 22 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in their first ever visit to Bangladesh, said a press release.
A local talented singer will get the chance to perform with the internationally acclaimed rock band in the concert. The singer will be selected through a talent hunt programme organised by Channel 9, which will begin today.
The private TV channel also claimed that the Danish rock band will be present at the final round selection programme to pick the candidate for the concert.
Crains Limited is sponsoring Michael Learns to Rock’s visit in Dhaka, according to the release.
Michael Learns to Rock (also known as MLTR) was formed in 1988. They have produced seven studio albums as well as many live and greatest hits albums, and are currently recording their eighth studio album.
MLTR have won many awards and have earned Gold and Platinum status for their records in many countries, as well as the ‘Gold Preis Award’ from RSH, Germany and ‘The Best Performing Act of the Year’ at the SEA Grammy Awards in Singapore.
The band has sold over 11 million records worldwide, mainly in Asia, and in addition, another 6 million or more paid downloads for their single ‘Take Me To Your Heart’ which was awarded ‘Most downloaded single of the year 2006’.
