THE police are supposed to ensure public safety and security. Recent incidents tend to show that the people at large are not secure in the hands of the police. Again and again, innocent people are brutally beaten, tortured by some law enforcers.
Worse still, instead of being punished, these men in uniform are being rewarded. It now seems that the peaceful and law-abiding people should maintain a safe distance from those entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law and order for, and safety and security, of all the citizens.
