Sanjida Khatun’s recognition in India celebrated

Different cultural organisations such as Chhayanaut, Jatiyo Rabindra Sangeet Sammelan Parisad and Bratachari celebrated Tagore exponent Dr Sanjida Khatun’s receiving of Visva Bharati University’s highest recognition titled Deshikottam Award though a cultural programme on Friday at Chhayanaut auditorium.  
The celebration programme featured music, poems and dance recitals presented by the noted artistes of the country.  
The show began with a dance recital synchronised with Tagore song Ananda dhani jagao gagone.
Chorus presentation of Pran bhoriye trisha hariye by Chhayanaut artistes entertained the audiences. The artistes also presented another chorus of Kobey ami bahir holem.
Noted Tagore singers like Fahmida Khatun, Iffat Ara Dewan, Papiya Sarwar, Aditi Mohsin and Mita Haque presented some evergreen Tagore songs such as Aji e nirala kunje, Tomar tulona tumi pran, Jibone amar joto ananda, Ki dhoni baaje and Debota jeney roi durey respectively at the proghramme.
Some timeless numbers of Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore such as Gahan kushumkunja majhe and Ami chanchalo hey were presented by Lili Islam and Bulbul Islam respectively.
Eminent Nazrul singer and Shahin Samad presented Esho hey sajal shamoghano deya at the programme. The day’s another remarkable performance was Chandana Majumdar’s presentation of Lalon song Manush guru nishtha jar, which gave a different flavor at the programme.
Recitation of Tagore’s Abhisar by actor, recitation artiste Asaduzzaman Noor with a stentorian voice modulation had a soothing influence on the listeners.  While Bhaswar Bandopadhyay’s spontaneous recitation Parichay created a magical ambiance at the hall.
Earlier in the evening, dancer Sharmila Bandopadhyay honoured Sanjida Khatun by bestowing a flower bouquet. Educationist professor Zillur Rahman Siddique delivered a speech on contributions of Sanjida Khatun in spreading Tagore works in the country.
