4 jailed for making fake fertiliser

A mobile court in Jhenaidah on Thursday sent to prison four men for varying terms, convicting them of producing adulterated fertiliser.
RAB camp commander Squadron Leader Hamidul Haque said they arrested them from the Chariarbeel area at Sailkupa in the district and also seized two tonnes of fake fertiliser from their possession.
The convicts are Sehab Uddin of village Sadhukhali, Manirul Islam of Mirjapur, Abul Kalam Azad of village Alamdanga, all from Sailkupa upazila of the district, and Mijanur Rahman of village Bardanga at Keshabpur upazila in Jessore.
Hamidul Haque said the gang was running a factory of adulterated fertiliser for last several years.
Sehab Uddin was awarded one year jail, Manirul Islam two years and Abul Kalam Azad and Mijanur Rahman six months.
Executive magistrate Ibrahim Hossain delivered the order.
