‘You will forever be the only exception’- this is the signature statement of Saquib Nazar, and beholds the hidden secret of his fast and exceptional success.
Though not a familiar name in his motherland, the young US based filmmaker Saquib Nazar has made a distinct impact in Hollywood, the haven for the world of cinema.
Saquib has worked with high profile artists like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Chris Brown and others, in a short yet colourful career as a director and producer.  He also has experience working with the crew of the action sci-fi movie ‘Transformers’.
Saquib, who is recently visiting Dhaka, was caught in a conversation with New Age to talk about his career and future plans.
‘After finishing my A’levels I went to Full Sail University for higher studies in filmmaking, since I realised that to utilise my creativity filmmaking would be my ultimate destiny’, said Saquib to New Age.
Even after coming to Dhaka Saquib did not remain idle. Recently he finished working on a music video, featuring local band Mechanix, which will be aired on MTV, USA. Talking about the video Saquib said,  ‘Using my connections and experience of working in Hollywood I always wanted to create a platform for Bangladeshi bands, and Mechanix is the perfect band to represent Bangladeshi rock music globally, which inspires me to make a music video on them’.
Saquib is collaborating with a company called Big Bang films, here in Dhaka, and has finished working with Power Surge and Joint Family. So far, he has made five independent films from his own production house, NutterQuib Entertainment.  The films were screened in different film festivals all across the USA.
He worked as a producer for the music video of 'You and I' by Lady Gaga and also produced a music video for the track 'Snapbacks Back' by Tyga (featuring Chris Brown).
‘I really enjoyed working with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry as both of them are really friendly people,’ Saquib said.
Saquib dreams of making mainstream feature films for Hollywood in the future. ‘I also aspire to come up with a music label from my company, dedicated to Bangladeshi musicians, where they will be promoted in the international arena’, said a confident Saquib.
