It was a huge gathering of people from all walks of life to welcome Bangla 1419 through music presented by the top singers of the country at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Saturday.
Truly it was nice treat for the New Year celebrations participants to enjoy some popular numbers of the leading singers including Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Syed Abdul Hadi, Farida Parveen, Abida Sultana, Kanakchapna, Leena Tapashi Khan and Lily Islam.
Leading recitation artistes like Asaduzzaman Noor, Jayanto Chattapadhyay and Shimul Mostafa also entertained the audience with peoms highlighting the spirit of Baishakh celebrations.
In addition, winners of several talent hunt programmes presented music.
The second day of the “Hajaoro konthe borshoboron”  programme, organised jointly by music school  Surer Dhara and Channel-I, wrapped up with presentation of the national anthem.
The first-day programme, in fact the Chaitra Sankranti celebrations, featured music, recitations and discussions on Friday at the same venue.
Like its previous year’s Chaitra Sankranti celebration programme, artistes of Surer Dhara presented songs from Tagore’s Gitanjali in chorus.
Moreover, renowned Tagore singers including Rezwana Chowdhury Bonnya, Mita Haque, Iffat Ara dewan and Lily Islam presented timeless Tagore songs on festivity at the programme.
Professor emeritus Anisuzzaman discussed on Tagore’s Gityanjali.
The first-day Programme wrapped up at 12:15am with a chorus presentation of Tagore song highlighting the spirit of Chata Sankranti titled ‘Bartho praner aborjona’ urging people to move forward overcoming all the failure.
The two-day event was planned and coordinated
by Rezwana Chowdhury Bonnya.
