Graft scam against Suranjit to be probed: ACC

United News of Bangladesh . Savar

Anti-Corruption Commission chairman Ghulam Rahman on Wednesday said they would investigate bribe scam allegations brought against railways minister Suranjit Sengupta.
‘In the past, there used to be no investigations into any allegations against ministers, but now the graft watchdog will do that,’ he said, addressing the concluding ceremony of a training programme for the newly-appointed 28 ACC assistant directors.
The ACC chairman also said the Commission would also conduct investigation into the corruption allegations regarding the Padma Bridge project and against the Destiny group.
Ghulam Rahman urged the newly-appointed ACC officers to sincerely perform their duties and have clear ideas about ACC rules so that no bigwig could escape through the loopholes of laws.
Chaired by BPATC rector AZM Shafiqul Alam, the programme was addressed, among others, by SCC commissioner Mohammad Badiuzzaman and secretary Faizur Rahman Chowdhury.
The programme was held at the Bangladesh Public Administration and Training Centre at Savar in Dhaka.
