Chhayanaut has finalised its preparations for celebrating Pahela Baishakh at Ramna in the capital on April 14.
The cultural organisation’s general secretary Khairul Anan Shakil at a press at Chhayanaut Sangskritik Bhaban on Wednesday briefed the news persons on the preparations.
Chhayanaut activists and some other artistes will perform songs of Rabindranath and Nazrul, he added.
A total of 18 singers will perform solo and more than a hundred singers will render chorus songs.
Syed Hasan Imam will deliver a general speech while president of the organisation Sajida Khatun is expected to give an especial speech, said Kahirul.
BTV, BTV World and Bangladesh Betar would broadcast the programme live and some other private TV channels might air the programme, he said.
People from all over the world would be able to watch the programme live via www.chhayanaut.org and www.drik.tv.
Chhayanaut co-president Sarwar Ali, trustee Pradip Nag and programme sponsor Grameen Phone’s deputy director Syed Tahmid Azizul Haque were present at the press conference.
Chhayanaut has been celebrating Pahela Baishakh at Ramna since 1967.
