The celebration of spring always brings opportunity to rejoice the unique creations by Tagore who articulated the impression of youthfulness or freshness of the king of the seasons in an eternal manner.
The divine beauty that the nature takes during the season was glorified by the spontaneous presentations of Tagore songs at a programme on Sunday at the Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi .
The colourful programme featuring music and dance by the members of the Jatiya Rabindrasangeet Sammelan Parishad in colourful attires was a kind of relief for the thousands of audiences in their busy urban lives.
The function began with chorus renditions of Tagore songs like Esho esho basanta dharatale and Aji dakhin duar khola to welcome the unique season when the crimson palash and shimul brings back life to nature following a dry season of over two months.
Celebrated Tagore singers such as Mita Haque, Aditi Mohsin, Laisa Ahmed Lisa, Bulbul Ahmed and Partha Sarathi Sikder, Sayeeda Hossain, Swati Sarkar, Srabani Majumder, Nandita Sarkar, Krishti Hefaz, Imranul Haque and Mostafizur  Rahman performed at the programme. They amused the listeners by rendering some enduring Tagore songs like Jhara pata go, Tumi kichhu diye jao, Basanta se jai to hese and Charan rekha tabo je pothe.
The dancers of Nrityanandan in red and white attires also gave a vibrant performance on stage to welcome spring.
A number of lively dance performances, choreographed by noted dancer Sharmila Bandyopadhyay, with the popular songs including Neel digante oi phuler agun, jhoro jhoro jhore, Ore aye re tobe and Ebar bidaibelar sur dharo also entertained the audience.
