DFP makes docu on Sultana Zaman

The film and publication department of the information ministry is making a documentary film on the life and works of eminent film actress Sultana Zaman.
The film, titled ‘Sultana Zaman-er Jiban Abong Kormo Shirsak Pramanno Chitra’, is directed by the department’s assistant film director Abu Zafar Ahmed
Moreover, her co-artistes and other film personalities including Shabnam, Hasan Imam, Amzad Hossain and others will share their experiences about Sultana Zaman, as a person, an artiste and co-worker.
About the film, Sultana Zaman, said, ‘It is a pleasant experience for me, because through this film the young generation of the country will know about me and my works.’
Sultana Zaman began her career as a film actress with Matir Pahar. Other films include Bhanumati, Mala, Ujala, Chhadabeshi, Shonar Kajol, Man-er Mato Bou, Jowar Elo, Janajani, Anek Diner Chena, Notun Digante, among others. She received National Film Award in 2009 for lifetime achievement.   
This is the fourth production on film personalities by the Department of Film and Publication. Previously, the department made documentaries on noted actor Razzak, Anwar Hossain and Baby Islam.
‘Since last year the ministry is producing these documentary films to introduce legendary artistes of the country to youngsters,’ director general of Film and Publication Department Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, told New Age.
‘The department will include other noted personalities from other fields in the course of time. There are plans to make documentaries on noted cultural personality Satyen Sen and film director Zahir Raihan,’ he added.    
Since its inception DFP has made documentaries on various noted personalities including seven Bir Sresthas of the war of independence, Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, Abbasuddin Ahmed and others.
