Unrest on campus
As it seems, universities in our country are places where students go to get themselves killed by opponent parties’ clash or by the conflicting fractions of the same party or by law enforcing agencies! Authorities (if there are any) shall play a partisan role and try to play a nasty ‘hide and seek’ game or a typical ‘blame game to keep the situation in their favour. This is no wonder as the authorities are extended wings of the ruling party. They may be committed to serve government party interest only.
In educational institutions students’ admission is a political affair, getting a seat in residential hall is also a political issue, availing undue advantage or even getting killed are also political phenomenon. Syndicate, vice chancellor, proctor no one is a simple law abiding citizen rather a politically biased person selected on political considerations. In such a situation how can we keep educational institutions out of politics, session jam and unwanted killing of meritorious students?
When the home minister says killing of the student Abu Bakar Siddique died on Wednesday who was not involved in active politics is an incident that may happen at any time anywhere, how can we expect the law enforcing agencies to keep situation under control? They are only likely to make the story more complicated by bringing in as many issues possible to deliver a hazy picture all to mislead the general people. But these people will probably never try to understand that the general public are also citizens of the same country and are living in the same society having same intellect level who can easily understand the motives but they keep silent so that the story makers are misled!
Minister, IGP, VC all are singing the same tune so well harmonised but something is very wrong somewhere! And that is the lyrics are not simply correct.
