Revenue generation growth
drops to single digit

Overall revenue generation growth for the first time in two years dropped to single digit in the last fiscal forcing the national revenue board to face an uphill task in achieving its revised target of Tk 53,000 crore. The NBR is facing more than Tk 1000 crore revenue shortfall in the revised target due to further drop in earning from the Customs and Value Added Tax departments in the last month of the fiscal year, said insiders....
