HC quashes Hasina case
Trial under emergency rules declared
illegal, govt appeals against verdict

The High Court on Wednesday quashed the Tk 2.99 crore extortion case against Sheikh Hasina and declared illegal the government’s action in placing the trial in the case under the Emergency Powers Rules. Stocks gain at bourses

Bitumin output in Eastern Refinery
suspended for drum crisis

Bitumin production in the Eastern Refinery Ltd, a subsidiary of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, remained suspended for over a week due to shortage of drums as the drum sheets supplier suddenly stopped the supply, officials concerned said.
