Rice, flour prices start falling on retail market

The prices of soya bean and palm oil, milk power, chicken, egg and vegetables increased further in the week, although coarse rice and flour prices started declining on the retail market in Dhaka. Soya bean and palm oil prices further increased by Tk 2 in the week on the retail market, following an increase by Tk 100 a maund (37.3kg) on the wholesale market in the week. Market sources said increased supply and less demand pushed down the rice and flour prices, but poor supply pushed up the prices of many other essential goods...[ + ]
