British Council Dhaka has organised an experience sharing session with eminent author Selina Hossain at 4:00pm at its auditorium on October 11.
   The author has recently attended the Edinburgh International Book Festival, held in Scotland.
   The festival is a bridge to build relationship among writers, readers and publishers, held every year.
   This year, 200000 people visited 700 various events of the festival where 650 authors from 50 countries including Selina Hossain from Bangladesh.
   Selina took part at the Bangla author’s session titled Writers of the World at Peppers Theatre where she read the last portion of her much acclaimed novel Hangar Nadi Grenade.
   The author also talked about our glorious war of independence.
   The session was chaired by the head of literature of the British Council London, Suzie Nicklin.

Telefilm Nil Ghuri will be aired on RTV after the Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
   The film has been scripted and directed by Suman Shams.
   Different roles are played by Sculptor Rusha, Rifat Chowdhury, Zahid Ahmed, Bimal Baul, Mamin Ali, F eroze Ehtasham, Mohammad Shoeb, John Romel, Sweety, Sraban, Ashraf Kabir, Simab, Shawkat Khan and others. The plot of the film revolves around a group of young enthusiastic people including Bhola, Khokan, Biplab and John Romel who dream for a happy society through their respective works.

Television actress and pinup star Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon, best known as Paris Hilton’s co-star in a widely distributed sex video, were married on Saturday in Las Vegas, according to media reports.
   Anderson, 40, who starred in the television show Baywatch, had been married to rockers Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. Salomon, 39, had once been married to Shannen Doherty, of Beverly Hills 90210, according to reports.
   The wedding, with about 60 guests, took place after Anderson’s performance at a show at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Usmagazine.com said.
   ‘Anderson wore a white Valentino mini-skirt; Solomon wore a black tux with a black beenie’, it said.
   On Anderson’s Web site, under the heading ‘The Adventures of Scum and Pam have begun’, Anderson said: ‘Rick and I are truly grateful. We are toasting the casino right after we get married after my show’.

Theatre studio Palakar will celebrate its fifth founding anniversary on October 10 at its studio on Bailey Road.
   Palakar, established in 2003, has produced seven studio plays so far and earned critical acclaim in staging them.
   The theatre group has staged 287 shows of these plays including Project Hundred Plus, Death Knocks, Mrittika Kumari, Timescape, Kharach Kamao, Char Dewal and Dakghar.
   According to the organisers, they have experimented with the subjects. They want to introduce the new researches and findings in their plays.
   They also thank the audience and patrons for popularising the studio plays in the country.
