Three NCBs on road to corporatisation

DCC faces 1,150 audit objections in three years

The audit department filed some 1,150 ‘broad-sheet’ audit objections in three years, alleging corruption in different projects of the Dhaka City Corporation. 1st week arrivals more than in
past year’s

The number of titles that arrived in the Ekushey book fair in the first week this year was more than what it was in the past year. The information centre of the fair said 454 titles arrived between February 2 and February 7. The figure was less than 300 in the fair in 2005. The Bangla Academy which organises the fair failed to bring out a single title in the first week. The authorities said they had plans to bring out 26 titles during the fair days...
