Banks’ lending rate yet to come down to single digit
Commercial banks have failed to keep their promises to bring down the average lending rate to single digit level by December 31. Statistics available with Bangladesh Bank shows that in most cases commercial banks are charging interest at rates ranging from 9 per cent to 12 per cent on term loans, working capital and trade financing.
