Strategic plan for tea industry

The government will implement in phases a 20-year strategic plan for revitalising the tea industry to meet growing domestic consumption and also increase export, an inter-ministerial meeting decided Saturday. City corpn approves bids for 10 cattle markets

Ten bids for as many makeshift cattle markets, to be set up ahead of Eid-ul Azha by the Dhaka City Corporation, have been approved by the tender committee. Although the corporation received 56 bids for 13 cattle markets out of 16, no bids were approved for three cattle markets as the highest bids were lower than last year’s. No bids were received for three markets. Among the ten bids, which have been approved by the tender committee, the highest is Tk 49,40,000 for the cattle market in the open space near the Chitra Hall at Armanitola...[ + ]
