87pc city buses older or about
20 years

Eighty-seven per cent of the buses that now ply the city streets are older than 20 years or between 15 and 20 years, said the officials of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority. A BRTA estimate says 3,502 buses and minibuses out of 4,042, now playing the city roads, are either older than 20 years or approaching the 20-year service life expiry. Titas snaps 64 gas lines in about fortnight

The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company snapped illegal and tampered gas connections of 64 factories at Savar, Tongi, and Narayanganj–Fatullah industrial belts in the past 13 days after it had launched a special drive on December 11.
