Judge crisis in Ctg courts hampers judicial activities

Judicial activities in Chittagong courts are being hampered seriously because of judge crisis that have already created a congestion of about 50,000 cases. Court sources said 18 out of 41 posts of judges of the District and Sessions Judge Court and 15 out of 17 posts of magistrates of different district and metropolitan magistrates’ courts were remaining vacant. The District Bar Association general secretary, Humayun Kabir Rashel, told New Age that the Chittagong courts were clogged with about 50,000 cases due to the inadequate number of judges...[ + ]
15,000 cases unresolved in Sylhet courts

Shortage of judges in Sylhet courts has seriously been hampering judicial activities, court sources said. The crisis has already created a congestion of about 15,000 cases in the Sylhet District and Sessions Judge Court, and the number is increasing day by day, they said. Battle for BCB

The race for the general secretary post of the Bangladesh Cricket Board in the upcoming election came to an end on Saturday as three of the four candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers leaving the position secured for frontrunner Mahabubul Anam. Shah Nurul Kabir Shaheen, Mahmudul Haque Manu and Kazi Tabaraqul Islam, who all had earlier vowed to fight for the post, withdrew their nomination papers citing mainly two reasons.
