Adulterated
insulin sold in medicine shops

Insulin, an injectable medicine for diabetic patients, is now being both adulterated and also faked and sold across the counter in many medicine shops. Although substantial evidence of adulteration is yet to be obtained, many diabetics complain of insulin hazard. ‘I was almost dying after the insulin was injected. It was an awful experience which I just couldn’t endure,’ said Monwara Begum, who obtained her supply of injectable insulin from a shop in the old town three months ago...[ + ]
8 shops fined for food adulteration

Two mobile courts on Sunday conducted drives against adulterated food at Cantonment and Sutrapur in the city and collected Tk 87,000 as fine, jailed two persons and filed a case against a bakery owner. A team led by metropolitan magistrate ABM Abul Fattah conducted raids in Cantonment area and collected Tk 60,000 in fines from seven restaurants and first food shops...
